Paris Saint-Germain boss Christophe Galtier has confirmed a new decision regarding Lionel Messi following his recent suspension.

The Argentine's relationship with the club had seemingly become fractured over the past two weeks, with his departure seeming more likely than ever before.

His two-week suspension, with docked pay, for travelling to Saudi Arabia last week Monday without the club's permission was ended early as he was allowed to return to training with the squad a week into the ban after apologising publicly to the team.

This latest saga comes as his current contract at the Parc des Princes draws to a close in June, which has further increased speculation over where he could be playing his football next season.

Having missed last weekend's game against Troyes due to his punishment, Messi was also expected to play no part in PSG's upcoming clash against Ajaccio, which could see them push closer to clinching the 2022/23 Ligue 1 title.

However, Galtier has officially confirmed that the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner's suspension has been scrapped completely and that he will feature for the Parisians in Saturday night's league fixture.

According to The Athletic, Galtier said: "I have spoken to Leo about his return on Tuesday, to see his mindset very calm.

"During our conversations I thought he was very motivated to play, very determined, and he wants to win another trophy, to be champion of France.

"Having seen his commitment this week in training, yes, Messi will start tomorrow.

"... We were thrilled to welcome back Leo. He trained all week, with desire, determination and he wants to play for the team."
