Sekhukhune United head coach Lehlohonolo Seema bemoaned the side's slow start to the game against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Sekhukhune were 2-0 down in the first seven minutes after lack of concentration and mistakes led to Tashreeq Matthews scoring within the first minute and Thapelo Morena doubled the Brazilians' lead six minutes later.

Chibuike Ohizu pulled a goal back early in the second stanza.

"If you have a start like this, that we had today against Sundowns, you're not going to win the game. We made it difficult in the first seven minutes. I'm sure Sundowns couldn't believe their eyes or their luck. We defended to badly, ja the game was finished," Seema said on SuperSport.

"Don't even go to half-time, if you can show me the stats of first-half, let's look at the stats and show them there. We had everything, we were above them, shots on target, shots wide, corners, free-kicks, everything.

"Sometimes you ask yourself that if we're a team that we're saying we need to make sure that we get points even in the difficult games but now I feel we donated points like that. We can lose games but losing like this? It's painful for the players. I'm sure where they are very angry with themselves," Seema said.

"With a team like Sundowns, if you let them off the hook first-half, it's gonna be difficult. We tried, we're not scoring our chances. The ball boys started to…So everyone could see Sundowns was on the back foot and then the tricks of football happened but the players pushed

"They never gave up, 2-0, seven minutes against Sundowns, one would think it's over but the players didn't give up. We got stuck in there, we fought. I think it's one game we want to forget as quickly as possible. What we did in the second half, the first-half is cancelling it. I'm not sure what was happening first-half, we'll have to find out but it was a terrible start and unfortunately we couldn't come back."

The former Orlando Pirates defender went on and said he did not even had to say much at half-time because not much was broken.

"It wasn't even bad, that is why we came even three, four minutes before Sundowns because there was nothing much to talk about. It was just to tell the guys here and there and then we had to be aggressive and then we have to convert our chances," he said.

"We tried second-half but like I said, you play against Sundowns with it's experience, you don't take your chances and you have a start like this you'll have a problem.

"Credit must go to them, you can see the fresh legs they brought today made a huge difference and I think we should have capitalized on (Brian) Onyango more, especially first-half and also when he was on a yellow card and I don't know why, I thought after the penalty the yellow card will come but it did not come.

"The guys I can feel for them, we'll have to pick them up but definitely if we gonna play  like this when the game starts we're not gonna win any games," he added.
