Moroka Swallows rallied from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Chippa United in DStv Premiership on Wednesday afternoon.
Thabang Maponya, Falakhe Tshanini and Jacob Everson returned for the Dube Birds, with Darren Johnson back in for Chippa ahead of Stanley Nwabali and Azola Ntsabo.
Chippa didn’t take long to get going as a delivery by Bienvenu Eva Nga picked out Kayden Francis who made no mistake but applied a stern finish from inside the danger area.
Nga continued to pose danger to the Dobsonville-based visitors and made another assist post the midway point, but a certain Sinoxolo Kwayiba wasn’t able to finish.
Thabo Makhele almost extended the lead past the half-hour mark through a surging header following a cross by Ntsabo, but he went wide.
Swallows were completely on the back-foot right throughout, as the Chilli Boys continued to do all the probing and orchestration of chances.
Basil Mphahlele came on for Maponya on the side of the Dube Birds following halftime, with Luvuyo Memela in for Baraka Majogoro on the end of Chippa.
Francis squandered a good chance to bag a double earlier on after another supply from Nga where he snapped wide from inside the box.
The Dube Birds did come in the swing of things - having been on the back-foot much of the contest and first chance came inside the closing quarter through a rasping shot from Everson.
Swallows were level inside the closing minutes following a powerful free-kick into the bottom-corner from Malawian Gabadinho Mhango.
It inspired the visitors following the latter stages and were ahead in additional time through a smart finish from Lwanda Mbanjwa – leaving the Dube Birds to a massive victory.
