Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena has explained what made things difficult for them after the goalless draw against Pyramids in the CAF Champions League.

Sundowns missed the chance to go two points clear at the top of Group A after they were held to a goalless draw by the Egyptian outfit.

Mokwena says it was difficult to get more out of the game, as they were the only side playing with intensity.

"It was a difficult game because when you have to set the intensity and the tempo, you're the only one responsible for that it becomes very difficult," Mokwena said on SABC Sport TV.

"So when the intensity is lacking, it's a very difficult game to play but okay we take the point and we move on."

The 36-year old coach went on and suggested that they will manage their schedule towards the end of the year, with five games still to go and admitted that he was not happy with their first-half performance but will take a point and move.

"That's the headache, but we'll manage, we'll overcome, we've got a very good squad, the players gave it their all especially in the second-half," he said.

"I wasn't happy with the first-half performance but the second-half we gave it a little bit of a go, more aggressive but of course not good enough, we take the point and we move on," he added.

A point apiece meant all teams in Group A are equal on four points after three match-days.
