Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson says his players deserve credit for playing better with ten men after a 2-2 draw against TS Galaxy.

Galaxy came from behind twice to cancel out goals by Ranga Chivaviro, as Sphiwe Mahlangu also scored a brace.

Chiefs had a player sent off, with Edmilson Dove receiving his marching orders on the stroke of halftime.

"You know when you get the red card again, you scratch and you ask yourself if it's not happening again but I thought we came out well, we played better with ten men this week compared to last week but obviously it's a different team," Johnson told SuperSport.

"I thought they missed two big chances in the first six minutes you've got to say that, I thought we were really fast asleep but we came out of it and then we pressed them and won the ball and scored the goal.

"I thought we had a lot of chances after the 2-1 but ja we didn't defend the corner correctly and they scored 2-2 but the rest of the game I thought we had better chances than they had when we had ten men than when we had 11 men. So ja we have to give the players some credit today, they put in a good shift, they worked hard."

Johnson went on and suggested his charges gained experience in how to play with ten men against Mamelodi Sundowns.

"Today they know how it feels to play with ten men, they know what they need to put up to play with ten men and it showed me that we can play better with ten men," he said.

The former SuperSport United head coach also had a word on Chivaviro who scored a brace.

"I've got to tell him he put up his hand, to say I'm available, he's done it before at this particular stadium and now he's showing that he's capable of doing it," Johnson said.

"Lacked a little bit in the past but we want our players to do that all the time, so we have a headache," he added
