Chippa United secured a second straight win in the DStv Premiership after defeating ten-man SuperSport United 1-0 on Tuesday evening.

Gape Moralo replaced Phathutshedzo Nange for Matsatsantsa while Chippa were boosted the return of Goodman Mosele from injury.

Chippa brought the first chance after 20 minutes when Thabiso Lebitso raced towards the edge of the area and stung the gloves of SuperSport goalkeeper Ricardo Goss with a fierce shot.

Morgan Mammila's charges were in again minutes later as Augustine Mulenga’s decoy run around the area resulted in a clever shot that narrowly missed target.

The match began to even up afterwards as Matsatsantsa began to find their own following an underwhelming start to the match.

SuperSport did also come close minutes around the break where a smart shot from a tight angle by Bradley Grobler forced goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili to tip over the crossbar.

However, Matsatsantsa were dealt a blow five minutes into the second half as captain Thulani Hlatshwayo committed a cynical challenge on Lebitso and received a red card.

The Tshwane side didn’t lose their heads despite going a man down and saw Goss produce a string of saves to thwart the likes of Siphelele Luthuli and Justice Chabalala.

SuperSport coach Gavin Hunt introduced two changes in the last 15 minutes in Keenan Bezuidenhout for Terrence Dzvukamanja and Jabu Matsio in the place of Lyle Lakay.

Matsatsantsa weren’t spared though five minutes from time this as Chippa went ahead after Elmo Kambindu made a forceful run on goal and found the bottom-corner to grab a third goal in two matches.

Chippa continued to look for more goals in the closing seconds, but had to settle for just one goal which helped them to victory.
