The first episode of African Football Unfiltered is here and our host Kamogelo Lukas Motecwane sits down with former Liverpool star Abel Xavier.
African football is important to us and that is why we decided to launch a podcast speaking with former players, managers and agents about fotball and more specifically, African football.
Having previously played for clubs in Portugal, Italy, and Spain, just to name a few, he spills the beans on life abroad, almost coaching Bafana Bafana and thoughts on AFCON 2024.
Xavier played 20 games for the Portugal national team, and was selected in their squads for UEFA Euro 2000 and 2002 FIFA World Cup.
Later he went on to became a manager for several Portuguese clubs and the Mozambique national team.
Here is the full podcast:
Xavier talks about where it all started for him and goes into detail about how coaches should be managing personalities.
Later he talks about his time with Mozambique as a coach and the success that he enjoyed there.
