DANCER and sangoma Zodwa Wabantu has vowed that no evil set against her would prosper.

The reality TV star and "exotic" dancer, whose real name is Zodwa Libram, said she was working overtime to cleanse and protect herself from evil people.

She told Daily Sun she steams with muthi every day to ensure she's not only protected but also steals the hearts of entertainment lovers.

"Ngiyafutha (I steam myself) for protection from evil people. No evil person shall perform their evil deeds on me and succeed. I'm protected by my ancestors, and make sure I'm clean," said Zodwa.

While some think doing such is out of fashion or outdated, Zodwa believes it's relevant.

"My ancestors feed me because I feed them. They make sure I get gigs. When I cleanse myself with muthi, it attracts luck. Even promoters love me and my craft, my fans also love me, and I get gigs," she said.

Zodwa has posted a video on her social pages in which she is seen steaming. In the video, she also asks her fans when last they steamed.

Zodwa is known for dancing half-naked. She became famous when she revealed that she doesn't wear panties, but now she wears them.

Her exotic dance moves have led to her being denied performances in some African countries such as Zimbabwe, Malawi and Lesotho.

In Lesotho, authorities refused to allow her to perform on the grounds that it's a crime to perform half-naked in that country.

In 2018, she was deported from the airport in Zimbabwe back to South Africa.

Zodwa is known for not allowing herself to be swayed by public opinion.

"I live my life and don't pretend to be something I'm not. Some people do what I do behind closed doors. For me, what you see is what you get," she said.

She was once criticised by sangomas for performing half-naked and being touched in a sexual way by men during her performances and wearing sangoma beads.

She responded, saying her ancestors allow her to make money.
